PERSONALITY DISORDER SERVICES IN ORKNEY

Orkney Health & Care has a Secondary Care Community Mental Health Team who treats clients with personality disorders. It is a multi-disciplinary team which includes professionals from psychiatry, psychology, community psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy and social work.

A range of different psychotherapies are also available in the team to treat personality disorders such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema-focussed Therapy and Mentalization Based Therapy. Depending on funding, the Community Mental Health team hopes to develop specialist skills in the near future that will provide MBT- lite group therapy to people with Personality Disorders.
